Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (CSHL), a world-renowned scientific research organization on Long Island’s North Shore, is seeking a Preclinical Therapeutics Imaging (PTI) Facility Study Coordinator to join the Laboratory Animal Resources department. The PTI initiative seeks to identify novel cancer therapies and early predictors of response in treatment of pancreatic cancer (PDAC), prostate cancer and lung cancer. These objectives are achieved using genetically engineered mouse models and xenograft models. PTI studies make use of state-of-the-art, non-invasive, molecular imaging approaches to aid in tumor imaging and analysis.
Responsibilities of the PTI Facility Study Coordinator will include: - Mouse colony management; reviewing genotyping results and setting up breeders for future studies and colony maintenance. - Pre-clinical study design and management; including dose administration (PO, SC, IV, and IP), sample collection and necropsy. - Survival surgery, including orthotopic transplantations and injections by various routes. - Coordination and training of junior technicians. - Oversight of record keeping, lab organization and inventory.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is preferred. Experience: Must have at least three years of post-graduate research experience. Prior experience with operation of ultrasound machine/fluorescence dissecting microscope and working in GLPenvironment are beneficial. Skills: Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills. Basic computer skills are also required and familiarity with Google Docs is preferred.
