Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the Library Supervisor 2, responsible for purchasing more complex library materials in all formats, requiring advanced bibliographic skills and decision-making ability. Establishes and maintains vendor records for serials orders in the integrated library system. Ensures that effective communication is maintained with Collection Strategies, subject librarians, other library staff and vendors. Enters invoices in integrated library system and forwards to Library Financial Services. Works closely with the section's head, California Digital Library staff, the Acquisitions Librarian and cataloging staff to ensure the smooth integration of electronic resources, both consortia and locally licensed, into the library's collection.
Physical Demands: Work in close proximity to others, with frequent interactions and interruptions; frequent movement within the department and to and from other areas.
Read small print on request slips and computer screens, read and interpret handwritten and annotated requests.
Requires communication in person and by telephone, e-mail and fax.
Lift books weighing up to 10 pounds, unpack boxed materials, maneuver loaded book trucks weighing approximately 400-700 pounds, and reach shelves 5' to 82' in height.
Work Environment: No eating or drinking in the work area. Work in close proximity to others, with frequent interaction and interruptions; frequent movement within the department and to and from other departments/areas.

Knowledge of electronic and print bibliographic tools used in English and common foreign languages.
