Position Summary: Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Director manages the daily operation of the Office of Student Services and Advising, has primary responsibility for administering examinations, disability accommodations and course evaluations, and serves as an administrative liaison for students and resource for information and guidance to them. The Director also fulfills the Dean of Student's responsibilities when they are unavailable.
The Director works under daily supervision of the Dean of Students, but meets independently with individual students.
Primarily responsible for administering all in-school exams with supervision from Dean of Students. This includes: creating memoranda for students and faculty, delivering instructional presentations to students, interacting with faculty, supervising regular and per diem staff, preparing exam materials, utilizing the exam software program, implementing accommodations, handling individual student issues, and streamlining processes
Supervise 1 junior staff member, as well as exam support personnel during the exam periods. Communicates with key contacts outside the office regarding examinations including students, Registrar's Office, Vice Dean, Head of the Library, ITS, members of the faculty, and selected vendors
Advise students on academic and personal matters. This includes academic planning, understanding law school policies, offering general guidance on class preparation and exams, and referrals to academic resources. Personal matters include how to manage the pressures of law school as well as outside challenges that may compromise a student's ability to function to their full potential. Refers students as needed to the Dean of Students, University Counseling Center, or other resources
Assist students in applying for reasonable disability accommodations from the University and implements approved accommodations
Supervise and administer on-line course evaluations
Manage locker assignments
Update office webpage and intranet information for students
Review student transcripts in conjunction with Dean of Students, and prepare warning, probation and dismissal letters as needed
Represent the Cardozo Division of Student Affairs on internal and external committees
Work in collaboration with other administrative offices on student matters
Experience & Educational Background:
2+ years related experience

Knowledge of, or demonstrated ability to learn, ExamSoft and Ellucian Banner
