Position Description: The Department of Speech-Language Pathology in the School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at the University of Pacific (Pacific) invites applications for a full-time, non tenure track position as an Assistant Clinical Professor/Clinical Education beginning in January of 2020. Responsibilities include:
Serving as the coordinator of the Graduate Clinical Education Program
Assisting the Graduate Program Director & Department Chair with the annual graduate admissions process
Coordinating and placing students in internal and external clinical placements
Managing database of external placements and affiliation agreements
Managing CALIPSO student hours tracking system
Serving as a liaison for all extern students
Reviewing and updating (if necessary) clinic handbook annually
Managing the Pacific Speech-Hearing-Language Center
Scheduling and maintaining active database for adult clients
Supervising students in on campus clinics (focusing on adult services but includes services for children)
Supervising clinical instructors for adult clients and completing annual reviews
Supervising diagnostic and treatment sessions at the Stockton Scottish Rite Language Center as necessary
Collaborating with the Stockton Scottish Rite Language Center Clinic Director to coordinate all student clinical assignments
Teaching courses (may include, but not limited to: Clinical Methods I Clinical Methods I IIIII, Internship in SLP, Fieldwork in SLP, Advanced Clinic, Diagnostics Lab, and Externship in Speech and Hearing
Serving as a voting clinical faculty member in departmental operations
M.A./M.S. and/or Ph.D. degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing Science, or a closely related field is required by January 2020.
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
Possess or be eligible for a California Speech-Language Pathology License
Additional Qualifications: Ability to communicate effectively and possess superior social interaction skills. Proficient in MS Office and electronic media. Excellent usage of the English Language with above average writing skills. Ability to perform above functions for the position including standing, stooping, sitting, walking, and meeting with potential externship sites.
