The Di Stilio lab is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar interested in the evolution of plant development. The job will be 100% FTE with an annual service period of 12 months and is a non-tenured position not eligible for promotion. The Di Stilio lab at University of Washington investigates the evolution of plant development, with a focus on flowering pathway genes, and is looking for a highly motivated post doc to work on the functional characterization of LEAFY orthologs in the fern Ceratopteris richardii, while developing molecular tools for Evolutionary developmental biology studies in this species.

Keen observational skills and a love of plants, advanced molecular biology skills and experience with plant culture, microscopy and bioinformatics. Excellent writing and communication skills, proof of publication experience. Funding is available for two years (with possibility of extension) via the National Science Foundation (NSF) project "Comparative analysis of fern LEAFY genes and their regulatory network" (in collaboration with Maloof lab, UC Davis). A PhD is required by the start of this appointment.
