The George Mason University, Department of Criminology, Law & Society invites candidates to apply for the Software Developer – Junior position. This position, which will report to the Network Operations Center within the W/B HIDTA and report to the Software Development Unit Supervisor, will be responsible for the development of W/B HIDTA in-house software systems, supporting databases, reports, analytical products and maintenance.
Specific Duties include:
Working within the Microsoft.NET development platform;
Working with Web Forms, MVC and .NET Core;
Working with senior development to provide technical solutions to requirements;
Utilizing MVC, C# and SQL development paradigms;
Working within the Agile/SCRUM framework;
Writing and maintaining technical documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes and corrections;
Coding and testing software based upon software specifications and design.
Must be able to develop software using the Microsoft.NET Development platform;
Ability to develop software using C# programming language;
Ability to develop web applications using HTML;
Ability to function in an Agile team and work within the SCRUM framework;
Ability to create technical documentation and process diagrams;
Ability to write SQL queries against a relational database;
Ability to design relational databases in Microsoft SQL Server;
Ability to appropriately apply W/B HIDTA Directives, as well as interpret and employ the Directives of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP);
Due to the nature of the work, must possess the ability to obtain a Secret level government clearance.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
