The High School College Coach will assist students and identifying and reaching their career and employment goals. The High School Career Coach is responsible for providing counseling, coaching, and career exploration services and serves as a professional development specialist for high school students and assists students in academic and career-decision-making and designs and implements innovative outreach initiatives to teach marketable skills. The High School Career Coach will serve Warren and the surrounding counties school systems traveling to individual schools daily, seeing students in coordination with individual school officials and administration.
This position reports to the Director of College & School Relations
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Assess student college/career aptitude and review career exploration inventory results to determine and discuss potential academic major and career opportunities
Provide professional and soft-skill development
Provide coaching services to students and alumni through individualized appointments, group counseling sessions, presentations, workshops
Create and present presentations and workshops for various student and faculty groups
Attend on-campus events and programmatic initiatives that support high school development needs
Attend meetings and trainings, communicate opportunities for departmental growth, and assist with departmental, divisional and university programming initiatives and events
Administer assessment and program evaluation tools to determine program effectiveness and student learning
Partner with high school leadership to enhance high school college readiness efforts

Must work independently, as a self-starter, and with autonomy in a high school environment
Must possess and practice effective individual and group career coaching skills
Must possess and practice excellent written and oral communication skills
Must plan, organize, prioritize, and execute tasks with an attention to detail
Must be skilled in designing, executing, and assessing educational outreach initiatives and presentations
Must adhere to all University policies and procedures
Earned Baccalaureate degree by position start date
Minimum 3 years of related work experience (i.e., high school guidance counseling, teaching, college career center, advising human resource centers, general career centers)
Work Schedule: 2 days a week - total of 85 days per calendar year
