The junior research scientist is responsible for the full life-cycle of project activities, from developing relationships with research sites, to supervising data collection, through assisting with data analysis and presentation of results. The junior research scientist also contributes to the overall management of the Literacy, Technology & Culture Lab, where the World of Words project is housed. Specific tasks include the following:
Liaise with schools that serve as research sites, including traveling to schools, collecting release forms, and ensuring that sites are ready for data collection activities (25%)
Hire and supervise hourly workers who collect data at project sites (25%).
Data analysis and preparation of reports and presentations (25%).
Maintain lab's website and social media, and respond to lab inquiries (15%).
General project administration, including printing project materials and purchasing lab supplies (10%).
