GEAR UP is looking to fill multiple coordinator positions with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. GEAR UP coordinators serve as primary contacts at GEAR UP schools and assume implementation responsibilities for all project activities that occur at these schools.

Responsibilities include: arranging, supervising tutoring and after-school programs; organizing summer programs, setting up campus visits, arranging parent meetings and coordinating other program activities; developing program strategies with director and school personnel; recruiting, hiring and training program staff; obtaining performance and participation data from schools

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Ability to interact productively with urban students
• Ability to manage and supervise staff members
• Ability to make clear oral and written presentations
• Knowledge of school structures and classroom protocols
• Ability to work in children in a classroom and non-traditional educational settings
