New York University’s Rory Meyers College of Nursing seeks to hire a Project Coordinator (PC) for one NINR-funded pilot study entitled “Cardiovascular Health in Black and Hispanic Adults with Type 2 Diabetes.” Principal Investigator: Margaret McCarthy, PhD, RN, FNP-BC
Under the direction and supervision of the Principal Investigator, the PC will be primarily responsible for overseeing the overall administration, coordination, and execution of the project and ensuring that all project goals and objectives are accomplished within the project period. The position is based at the Rory Meyers College of Nursing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare IRB modifications/submissions, annual progress, and financial reports, and other project-related protocols and documents.
Coordinate, manage, and assist with data collection efforts including but not limited to recruitment and retention of participants, administration of study instruments, logging biospecimens.
Create and maintain secure project databases.
Assist with data cleaning, coding, and analysis.
Assist in the training and supervision of research staff including bachelors, masters, and PhD level students.
Coordinate and co-lead regular team meetings.
Collaborate with the investigative team in the preparation and submission of conference abstracts and manuscripts.
Conduct other tasks as needed.
Experience and Skills
Prior experience in project coordination and management preferred.
Strong computer and technical skills required, including REDCap.
Experience collecting, downloading, and analyzing accelerometry data (Fitbit).
Experience with quantitative and qualitative statistical software packages (SPSS, Atlas.ti,) preferred.
Fluent in Spanish required. Applicant must be bilingual.
Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Must be self-motivated, flexible, detailed-oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, be able to work on a team, and handle multiple priorities.
Bachelor’s degree (psychology, public health, nursing, etc.) and at least 2 years of research experience required.
Master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience in project coordination preferred.
