Under the supervision of the Associate Director, the Accounting Associate provides accounting administration support and will assist in the development, coordination, monitoring, and management of assigned budgets under the fiscal guidance and administration of the SIUE East St. Louis Center (ESLC) totaling approximately 17 million dollars annually. The selected candidate will ensure all budgets are compliant with university, state and federal policies and procedures as well as monitor the fiscal operations of various East St. Louis grants and programs. The Accounting Associate will gather and analyze data to meet various requests from state and federal granting agencies along with requests from select university administrative offices. Additional duties may include:
-Develop and maintain budgets for both federal and non-federal grant accounts at the ESLC, and perform account reconciliation and budget management duties relative to grant expenditures. -Assist in preparing budget reports, year-end budget close-out, developing operating budgets, and processing budget reallocations and revisions. -Review fiscal transactions (purchase requisitions, invoices, financial documents, etc.) to ensure compliance to University and granting agency fiscal guidelines, prior to submission for approval. -Review and reconcile credit card expenditures for all programs at the ESLC. -Monitor and implement timely and accurate payment obligations as well as process billing to partnering agencies. -Meet with Program Directors at least monthly, for discussion of budgetary status and reconciliation.
Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the Center.
