This position will focus on NK cell resistance in acute myeloid leukemia. The work aims to identify additional receptor targets and to define mechanisms responsible for innate immune evasion. Our primary approach is to identify genes crucial for malignant cell viability and growth in leukemia cell lines and patients samples before and after small molecule inhibitor exposure. We utilize CRISPR/Cas9 library screens combined with deep sequencing of exposed cell lines and primary patient samples to identify functionally important signaling pathways required for leukemogenesis and resistance to targeted therapies.
This position will involve cell culture, use of AML cell lines and processing of primary patient samples for use in downstream analyses. One area of focus will be aiding with CRISPR/Cas 9 library screens to identify essential genes required for leukemogeneis and to identify compensatory pathway activation in the context of drug resistance. These experiments will be carried out with NK cells in primary leukemia samples as well as cell line models.
Some evening and weekend work may be required. General responsibilities include molecular techniques, mammalian tissue culture, drug co-culture, flow cytometry, and analysis of data.
Molecular biology techniques required: RNAi , PCR, primer design, cell culture, transfections, transductions, Western blots, cloning, sequencing.

Must have demonstrated excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in person
PhD degree in science or technology
Graduate work in Molecular Biology
Laboratory experience, preferably in cellular and molecular biology
