The Department of Theater and Dance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is seeking candidates for an Assistant Professor of Acting/Directing. The successful candidate will participate in department/university service, will maintain an active creative and scholarly agenda, and will teach a 3/3 load that includes all levels of acting (for majors and non-majors). This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure track position whose duties include: teaching multiple levels of acting/directing and performance technique (both core and elective classes as per specialization); directing one mainstage production per academic year; serving as Head of Performance; advising/mentoring department performance majors; recruitment activities including attendance at High School Thespian Festivals; and advising student productions. Additional summer opportunities in teaching and/or directing may be available. Successful candidates will demonstrate commitment to inclusion, equity, and diversity in teaching, research/creative activity, and service.
