The Graduate School of Defense Management (GSDM) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) seeks applicants for a part-time instructor position to begin in the Summer of 2021 (June 2021). The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate economics and policy courses in our resident MBA and the M.S. programs. Applicants must be US citizens that have completed an advanced degree in either Economics or a related discipline, have proven experience in teaching at either the undergraduate or graduate level and excellent teaching evaluations. We will consider strong ABD applicants or those with a Master’s in Economics if they have the necessary experience. At a minimum, the successful candidate will teach introductory economics including some cost-benefit analysis.
NPS is the nation’s premier defense related graduate university and highly values both research and instruction. Located in scenic Monterey/Carmel, California, the school offers unique opportunities for access to both data and summer research funding. GSDM has over 70 full-time faculty and about 300 full-time graduate students, most of whom are military officers, and approximately 300 distant learning students (military officers and Department of Defense civilian employees).

A master’s degree in Economics or related discipline, but preference will be given to Ph.Ds.
Ability to teach introductory economics and cost-benefit analysis.
Proven teaching effectiveness (either as a dedicated course or within a broader course)
