The Department of Psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), in partnership with other major Oregon health systems, has an outstanding opportunity for a BE/BC psychiatrist interested in providing weekend clinical coverage for the Child and Adolescent Unit.
The Unity Center for Behavioral Health utilizes a non-coercive, highly community oriented treatment program, which prevents hospitalization when possible, and returns patients to community services as soon as feasible. This 100+ bed psychiatric hospital and 75-bed psychiatric emergency service in Portland, Oregon is a collaborative effort to address the mental health needs of the community.
The hospital is also a major training site for the departments residency training program, medical students, and other health professions trainees. This is a unique opportunity for a creative, energetic psychiatrist to treat, teach and advance their academic interests.
Provide weekend clinical coverage for the Child and Adolescent Unit within the Unity Center for Behavioral Health
Provide clinical care to pediatric patients at in an inpatient setting
Evaluate, diagnos, develop and initiate treatment plans, and provide medication management for pediatric patients in an inpatient setting
Participate in education of Child Psychiatry Fellows rotating at Unity
Academic rank begins at the level of Assistant Professor and may be higher depending on credentials.The position offers competitive pay and benefits, which may include a relocation allotment and/or a signing bonus.
