Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications seeks a scholar with international standing for the position of Newhouse Professor, an endowed chair established at the founding of the School.
We are seeking a colleague who can examine the evolving construct of bias in communications and establish a leading research program that explicates the formation, manifestation and evolution of biases in the media broadly defined. Understanding that in the 21st century, bias can arise in new ways, from data-powered algorithms to transient social networks, we are seeking a scholar eager to lead in new directions and break new ground. A wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches will be considered. The position is well-supported with a significant research budget and travel funds included.
