The NYU Dentistry Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics is accepting applications for a Junior Research Scientist. The successful candidate can expect to work on NIH sponsored research projects as well as projects related to residual stresses in porcelain veneered zirconia, lithium disilicate, and metal restorations. The job requires fabrication and characterization of all-ceramic and metal-ceramic restorations (using cold press and/or 3D printing technology), histological processing, as well as helping in supervising students. Salary will be commensurate with credentials and experience. This is a fixed-term position with an initial contract of 6 months with the possibility for extension.
Applicants should hold a MS in Biomaterials Science. Applicants with a BDS degree are preferred. Candidates with direct research experiences in areas related to ceramic processing and characterization, and/or various mechanical testing are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants should have a strong record of accomplishments in research and national/international scientific presentations, and have the ability to effectively communicate in English.
