The Department of Pediatrics at the Renaissance School of Medicine in Stony Brook, New York, is seeking two full-time Pediatricians.
General Pediatrician (Brookside Multicare Nursing Center/Newborn Nursery)
Clinical responsibilities include providing care for children admitted to long term care at Brookside Multicare Nursing Center, and providing care in the Newborn Nursery at Stony Brook Children's Hospital. No night call. No weekend shifts.
General Pediatrician (Child Advocacy)
Clinical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing medical evaluation and consultation for children presenting to the Pediatric Emergency Department and/or admitted to the Stony Brook Children's Hospital with concerns for possible abuse, serve as the Medical Director of the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center (a National Children's Alliance accredited CAC), and responsible for supervising a medical staff of four providing outpatient evaluations and follow-up of pediatric SANE cases. The physician will be part of the Suffolk County Child Abuse Task Force MDT and work closely with Child Protective Services, law enforcement, the District Attorney's Office, mental health providers, and Community Family Advocates at the CAC.
The successful candidates will also be engaged in the education of medical students and residents, as well as participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications: MD/DO degree; Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics. Eligible for medical licensure in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in residency education.
