Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology: Postdoctoral Scholar (Open until filled. Apply by 1/4/21)
The Department of Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral scholar. Under the direction of Assistant Professor Shaheen Sikandar, the postdoctoral scholar will be expected to develop and conduct a research project in the areas of breast cancer metastasis and/or aging; apply for competitive post-doctoral fellowships; and write manuscripts and grants.
The Sikandar lab leverages single cell transcriptomic data to identify novel regulators of stem cell populations and understand the functional heterogeneity in normal and malignant stem cells. Our goal is to identify molecular pathways that can be leveraged to develop novel preventive and therapeutic strategies for breast cancer. We are looking for motivated, creative individuals who can independently develop a project and also enjoy working as part of a team in a diverse and collaborative environment. Successful applicants would have demonstrated a passion for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications.
Applicants with expertise in cancer biology, stem cell biology, and/or tumor immunology are strongly encouraged to apply.
