Provides technical and organizational leadership to the Information and Educational Technologies (IET) department and its functional workgroups. Creates, develops and executes the college's annual multi-million-dollar Technology Plan. Serves as the college's Chief Information Officer (CIO) providing strategic planning for the acquisition, use, and growth of college-wide information resources in the support of education, research, and administrative operations. Also, serves as the college's Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and charged with enforcing Virginia Community College System (VCCS) Information Security Standards at the college. Leads complex, institutional-wide deployments of technology solutions and services and determines the most appropriate project implementation. Areas of responsibility include, but are not necessarily limited to: academic information systems, administrative information systems, server virtualization, support of web-based services, desktop support, administrative applications support, communications networks, advanced network infrastructure, VOIP telephone services, printing and postal services, and the video/television infrastructure. Delivers IT services in a collaborative, communicative manner that achieves the highest level of customer satisfaction, infrastructure reliability, PII security, and timely attention to customer needs. The position reports to the Vice President of Financial and Administrative Services and has the authority to make independent decisions. This position is responsible for the strategic direction of the department, as well as operational supervision and management. A Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems Technology or related field. Experience in an information technology management role involving supervision, performance management, budgeting, and strategic planning. Experience developing and executing a comprehensive Information Technology master plan. Extensive knowledge of Information Technology Systems, network Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and virtual service delivery. Demonstrated ability to manage complex and multiple competing projects and deadlines. Problem solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills to influence management, as well as, internal and external partners. Highly effective, productive and motivational leadership skills. Ability to actively communicate, inspire and motivate all levels of staff. Must have proven ability to define and develop solutions based on business requirements. Demonstrated level of expertise and experience in all levels of information technology, application development, server technologies, database technologies, telecommunications, and information systems. General knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). General understanding of information security standards (ISO, NIST, PCI, etc.).
