Junior Specialist- Sohal Lab University of California, San Francisco
The Sohal Lab in the Department of Psychiatry is recruiting a Junior Specialist. The successful candidate will be assisting with experiments in the Sohal lab, including maintaining a transgenic mouse colony (mouse husbandry, genotyping), experiments in brain slices (preparation of acute brain slices, patch clamp recording, and calcium imaging), experiments using optogenetics and fiber photometry in behaving mice, and analysis of these datasets. They will also assist with lab management including adherence to IACUC, biosafety, and controlled substance protocols.
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) or at least four years of research experience.
Experience with mice and physiology
Candidate’s must meet qualifications at the time of hire. CV must list qualifications (or if pending) upon submission.
