Manage the Dean's appointments, meetings (both internal and external), and coordinate the Dean's schedule.
Serve as a liaison for visitors and public relations. Assist faculty, students, staff, and community partners with in-person, telephone, and email inquiries.
Coordinate department timetable, interdepartmental communications, and an all-school calendar, schedule academic program reviews, and accreditation which includes acting as liaison with the department chairpersons and the Provost's office regarding all academic programs and accreditation reviews and matters pertaining to assessment.
Assist the Dean in coordinating initiatives related to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, including service on institute-wide committees and task forces, etc.
Assist the Dean in managing faculty evaluation and promotion processes including appointments, reappointments, promotion, and tenure in accord with applicable policies and standards as well as in accordance with the faculty union collective bargaining agreement.
Assist in the collection of content for all School of Art communications including the School of Architecture newsletters, social media outlets, and other engagement activities as required.
Assist the Dean in planning and coordinating School of Architecture events, symposiums, speaking engagements, and various other public events.
Assist the Dean in operational planning for space use and facilities conditions reporting, as well as capital project proposals.
Maintains and updates data for administrative reporting purposes on all School-level projects, including managing the faculty workload and ensuring compliance with the union contract.
Maintains all files and administrative structure for curriculum proposals, revisions, accreditation, assessment reports and other academic reports.
Supports the Dean with alumni relations and engagement activities and events.
Assist in all daily operational activities, and assume all other related responsibilities as required.
Education: Associate's Degree required, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Experience: Three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience with an architecture-related organization or with higher education administration is preferred. Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate must have strong technology skills and the ability to use social media and digital tools to accomplish work objectives. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to collaborate with faculty and administration to achieve school goals in a collegial manner, while exercising discretion when necessary. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations; and demonstrated level of cultural competence.
