Specialist- Stroud Laboratory University of California, San Francisco
The Department of Biochemistry & Biophysics is recruiting a Specialist at the Full rank. The primary area of research required in this position is the expression, purification and structure determination of integral membrane protein structure and function, specifically on a family of human integral membrane proteins that are ATP driven transporters of the ABC transporter family. A second key area concerns COVID19 proteins that are key to COVID19 infection and identifying their host partners in the human target epithelial cell. Purification and preparation of complexes for structure determination by cryoEM methods.
Qualifications: PhD and experience in developing expression and purification of human integral membrane proteins. Has experience with determining cryoEM protein structures at atomic resolution. Has experience in crystallography of membrane transporters and their various structural states.
