SFVAHCS – Nephrology - Clinical Investigator
Clinician Investigator at San Francisco VA Health Care System
The Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) are seeking applications for a junior- or mid-level clinician investigator in the Nephrology Section at the SFVAHCS. The SFVAHCS Nephrology Section is one of three sites within the UCSF Nephrology Program.
Qualified applicants will have an MD, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Nephrology. The ideal candidate will be suitable for academic appointment at UCSF at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor of Medicine. The candidate may be appointed in the Adjunct, HS Clinical, Clinical X or In-Residence series at UCSF and will report directly to the Division Chief of Nephrology at the SFVAHCS. Ideal candidates will have demonstrated outstanding clinical excellence and exceptional aptitude for collaborative translational, clinical or health services research, particularly in kidney and cardiovascular diseases. The ideal candidate must show strong potential for obtaining extramural research funding and will be expected to have or be able to apply competitively for career development awards or more advanced level of research funding. In addition to research, the ideal candidate will have shown excellence in teaching fellows, residents and medical students.
