Assist the Senior Telecommunications Engineer with daily responsibility for system maintenance. Serve as backup to Senior Telecommunications Engineer for system management, engineering, design, administration and maintenance of the University's digital voice network communications systems. This must be in a manner consistent with providing reliable, uninterrupted service. This position will assist with vendors in addition to providing consulting services and technical support in areas of communications technology. This position will also assist with accurate processing of orders (voice, data, voip), repairs, and billing, resulting in cost effective, reliable, high quality services to the University community. The Telecommunications Engineer will share an on-call schedule 24 hours a day for response to system alarms.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree preferredÂ Â
2- 3 years of IT experience including administration, operation and maintenance of telephony systems
Experience withÂ Cisco and CUCM is preferred
Excellent technical problem solving skills
Customer Service Orientation and good judgement
Ability to function in a team oriented environment
Strong analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience with work order, trouble ticket, inventory management and re-billing services/software a plus
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Demonstrates a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
