The Jung lab is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow that will be enthusiastic about collaborative, cooperative, and interdisciplinary research. Research experience in experimental mouse models, immunology, flow cytometry, cell biology, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry is preferred. We are seeking a scientist who is self motivated, well organized, has excellent time management skills and is highly proficient in English oral and written communication skills.The Jung lab aims to explore how activin signaling affect morbidity and mortality in severe acute pancreatitis. Activin is a member of the TGFbeta superfamily and this study will increase the mechanistic understanding of the role of activin in acute pancreatitis with the goal of translation into a novel therapeutic option for acute pancreatitis.
This is a full-time position with a 12 months service period, with the possibility for yearly renewal dependent upon performance and continued funding. The Jung lab is part of the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. The start date for this position would be as soon as possible.
Develop hypotheses and experimental plans for in vitro and in vivo models.
Conduct necessary research experiments and data analysis to support lab hypotheses and projects.
Generate clear and timely records of experimental work, including laboratory notebook upkeep.
Attend research seminars and keep up-to-date on current literature in the field.
Troubleshoot and customize experimental tools to respond to research questions.
Develop figures and manuscripts for publications.
Compose abstracts and posters/PowerPoint presentations for internal and national meetings.
Identify and write relevant grant proposals to obtain funding for laboratory projects.
Work collaboratively with laboratory members

PhD in life science related field.
Research experience in cell biology, molecular biology, in vitro cell culture, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry methods, immunology, mouse models.
Preference for applicant with extensive experience designing flow cytometry experiments and immunology background.
Self-motivated, well organized, excellent time management skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
