The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and the Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago are seeking a qualified clinical child and adolescent psychologist or pediatric psychologist to serve as the Chief Psychologist within the Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Lurie Children’s Hospital, a nationally ranked, freestanding children’s hospital located on the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine campus.

Responsibilities include: (1) providing leadership of a staff of approximately 40 psychologists regarding their professional and academic development, hiring of psychologists and conducting annual reviews; (2) conducting an independent research program in areas of clinical child and adolescent psychology, developmental psychopathology, or pediatric psychology; (3) providing leadership in the development of clinical programs within the department and Lurie Children’s Hospital, engaging in quality improvement and research efforts associated with program evaluation and treatment outcomes; (4) overseeing training programs in clinical psychology and neuropsychology directed by the Director of Training in Psychology; (5) serving on hospital committees for QI, program and personnel matters as directed by the Department Head and Senior Director; (6) providing clinical care in the applicant’s area of special clinical interest.
The faculty appointment will be on the non-tenure-eligible, Clinician-Educator track at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. The applicant will have demonstrated the ability to obtain research funding the NIH-level or that of major foundations. Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD in a clinical psychology training program and completed an internship specializing in clinical child or pediatric psychology. At least one of training programs must have been APA-approved. The individual will also have completed a fellowship in pediatric or clinical child and adolescent psychology and have experience in a pediatric medical setting.
Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time position. Hiring is contingent upon eligibility to work in the United States, completing licensure in Illinois and obtaining Lurie Children’s Hospital privileges.
