Essential Functions: JOB PURPOSEThis position will be responsible for the overall centralized consolidation and the monitoring of all security systems on campus, including video surveillance, alarming, access controls and other physical security control systems. This person will ensure the continual working order and operations of campus cameras and relevant surveillance equipment. They will act as a liaison between police and other campus entities providing leadership in the fields of information and physical security.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSServe as project leader; prepare project plans and specifications, and set direction for physical security policies, processes, and procedures throughout the University in conjunction with Network Engineering and Information Security Office. Serve as expert on physical security principles, standards, and processes.Research current and emerging security technology trends. Evaluate, test, design, and provide comparative analysis for new technologies or to make purchase recommendations to further improve security at the University. Serve as the technical contact and liaison during product discovery with faculty, staff, third-party vendors and suppliers.Identify specific technical recommendations to improve the existing infrastructure security. Conduct appropriate follow-up to ensure identified security issues have been resolved.Provide work direction to professional staff assigned to security function. Lead project teams of assigned student, technicians and/or vendors working on project initiatives.Provide training as needed to the users of the supported security applications.
Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:Specialist with a minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience. Experience in computer/network security field. Experience evaluating security technologies. Experience with all major computer operating systems. Experience evaluating security solutions for customers and conducting analysis of the budget, needs/expectations, network data, and technical capability. Experience working with multiple Video Management Systems, Alarm Systems and other emergency equipment.
