Assistant Network Specialist IT Infrastructure Job Code: 4811 Grade: H
The Residential Network (ResNet) group is part of the IT Infrastructure department of the central University IT organization of Stanford University. The ResNet team provides support for the more than 48000 network ports and 8800 wireless access points in the Student Residences.
The Assistant Network Specialist reports to the ResNet lead engineer. This position will be responsible for the documentation, planning, servicing, and installation of networking equipment for the Student Residences.
Partial list of tasks:
Work with other student support teams to troubleshoot reported network connectivity issues.
Support network documentation
Help design, install, and maintain the network for over 250 student residential locations
Maintain maintenance records, costs, and supplies for ongoing support of the student network.
Work with Stanford University DPA personnel for networking equipment tracking.
Proactively support, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
BA or BS or equivalent.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work both independently and in teams.
Excellent client skills including the ability to work in a variety of difficult situations
Valid Driver's License
Networking Fundamentals Knowledge of TCP/IP
HTML, Web Page, Forms, Web Design
