Reporting directly to the Vice President for Administration & Finance/CFO, the Business Analyst is responsible for the coordination of budget planning and allocations process, implementation and maintenance of effective accounting and reporting information systems, and management of financial resources of the University. The incumbent has broad financial and administrative responsibilities for managing, analyzing, and monitoring of the University's total budget. Demonstrated proficiency in designing effective budget and financial forecast models and aligning student data with financial data to support proactive planning in support of the strategic plan is a must. The Business Analyst' portfolio of experience should include solid financial acumen and a working knowledge of current financial reporting systems necessary to streamline the reporting functions of the University. This position will interact with constituent groups across campus requiring excellent written & oral communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Five years of progressively more responsible accounting related practice required. Accounting experience in higher education, along with detailed knowledge of FASB regulations required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Strong analytical capabilities; excellent written, verbal, problem solving and communication skills; in-depth working knowledge of computerized accounting systems (Ellucian Colleague & MicroStrategy experience a plus); demonstrated track record as a team player; proven experience with Microsoft office suite products.

Manage the requirements gathering, development and rollout of budget on Excel.
Report monthly variance analysis and current business direction and significant business impacts.
Research, Recommend, Design, develop and implement personnel and budget software package to including: (reports, analytics, ad-hoc queries, dashboards, etc.) via software application.
Work collaboratively to develop database objects, such as tables, views, common table expressions, dynamic SQL, foreign key constraints and stored procedures.
Develop technical design documents and BI specifications that incorporate BI development standards and best practices.
Provide project status to supervisor on a frequent basis.
Collaborate with database and development teams optimize overall software performance.
Investigate and resolve reported MicroStrategy issues, working with end-users, management, and other developers.
Serve as a technical support contact and work to resolve platform-related issues.
Work on BI solutions with other MicroStrategy specialists as necessary, including business analysts, developers and database architects.
