Under the supervision and in collaboration with the Director of the Center, the Assistant Director is responsible for day to day operations and oversight. Together, they are responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the activities of the Center on an ongoing basis in collaboration with the School of Nursing, other Schools in the University. and clinical partners. In collaboration with the Director:
Provides uniform simulation and standardized patient experiences as necessitated by their curriculums;
Assists the Director in coordinating the scheduling and usage of the Center to ensure that the needs of each are being fairly met;
Oversees and manage day-to-day operations of the Center in the absence of the Director;
Assists the Director to ensure that simulation equipment and programs meet standards of quality assurance for breadth and depth of education, and user expectations;
Assist in data collection and data analysis for the purpose of simulation-based research, Center accreditation, and periodic reports;
Provides instruction in clinical competencies using simulation technology as may be required in the nursing programs;
Assists with development of applications for Basic Skills Labs, Simulators, Standardized Patients, and Mixed/Virtual reality experiences in all school curricula in collaboration with faculty;
Teaching and/or Service-related activities of the School of Nursing;
Assists in inventory, maintenance, and ordering of equipment and supplies.
Ensures equipment and supplies are available and ready for scheduled simulations;
Participates in all appropriate meetings of the School of Nursing and the University;
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing with an unencumbered license as a registered nurse;
Minimum of three years of clinical experience in nursing;
Additional experience in developing and/or implementing simulation and standardized patient experiences for healthcare/academia, and/or integrating simulation and standardized patient experiences across the healthcare delivery system highly desirable;
Must be organized and detail oriented, with outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Has ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Able to work independently and/or as part of a team once projects/work have been assigned;
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of student and School information;
Maintains professional behaviors in communications, demeanor and dress;
Ability to flex schedule to meet needs of the Center which may include beginning or ending shift at variable times.
Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) clinical simulation and virtual learning modalities;
Commitment to complying with polices, and procedures of the School of Nursing and the University.
