The School of Professional Psychology (SOPP) at Spalding University seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track faculty member to serve as the Director of a Clinical Neuropsychology Emphasis Area, within our APA Accredited PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology. The position is slated to begin in Fall 2021. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop academic coursework and practicum training for the Clinical Neuropsychology Emphasis Area that is expected to begin Fall 2022. Our open position is at the Assistant Professor rank. Successful candidates must hold a doctoral degree in psychology with clear evidence of credentialing and specialization in Neuropsychology. Completion of, or significant progress toward, board certification in Neuropsychology is preferred.
We seek candidates who would be able to develop new curriculum and community partnerships that would provide our students with cutting-edge doctoral level training and practicum opportunities in clinical neuropsychology, while also contributing to the collaborative nature of our faculty. In addition to developing and executing a new emphasis area program, successful candidates will be expected to achieve a strong balance across the three domains of teaching, scholarship, and service. First, they will be strong teachers who utilize best practices in teaching and enjoy student mentoring. Second, they will be thoughtful scholars with a record of presenting and/or publishing in their chosen research interest areas. Third, they will possess a cooperative spirit to work collegially with others on university and departmental service committees. The position offers scheduling flexibility (other than class times) and faculty members are encouraged to use up to eight hours per week in research, consultation, direct service (e.g. private practice) and/or supervision. Opportunities also exist to engage in direct service and student supervision in our own community clinic, The Center for Behavioral Health. https://behavioralhealth.spalding.edu/
