The Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development (Tufts CSDD) invites applications for full-time positions beginning immediately. We are interested in candidates with experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research in applied and managerial economics, management science, management policy and organizational behavior. We are especially interested in individuals with familiarity of the drug development process and of operating functions and services supporting global R&D in the pharmaceutical industry.
Tufts CSDD is world renowned and conducts grant-funded scholarly research for government agencies, foundations and private corporations. Throughout our 45+ year history, we have been a multidisciplinary research center dedicated to optimizing drug development performance and efficiency through robust, data-driven assessment, analysis and insight.
We welcome candidates from diverse cultures and backgrounds. The initial appointment term will be for two years with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon annual performance review results. As a clinical department of the Medical School, Tufts CSDD faculty positions do not offer tenure. All CSDD faculty are expected to develop subject matter expertise and to raise grant funding annually to support and nurture that expertise. CSDD faculty engage in all aspects of research: raising funding and support; planning and executing scholarly studies; analyzing results; presenting study findings and publishing study results in peer-reviewed and trade journals.
Tufts CSDD has a dedicated and highly collaborative faculty and staff. We also benefit from excellent graduate students and cross-disciplinary research collaboration.
Requirements: Doctoral degree — or a master’s degree with 5+ years of experience — in applied and managerial economics, management science, management policy and organizational behavior with particular familiarity and experience in global R&D of drug therapies. A successful candidate will demonstrate a clear commitment, curiosity and passion for conducting scholarly research to improve all aspects of drug development performance, quality and economics.
To ensure full consideration, applications must be submitted by April 2021. Review of applications will start immediately and continue until the positions are filled.
