Primary Purpose: Primary purpose under the direct supervision of the Employment Recovery Coach, provide on-site cafe and cashier services to members and visitors of the Martin Gipson Socialization Center and Community Re-Entry Program.
Essential Functions: 1. Perform cashier and customer service tasks: this includes, but is not limited to: Providing a positive costumer service and be able to follow oral and written instruction. Maintaining clean caf and eating area wiping tables, cleaning floors, taking out trash, washing coffee machine, etc. Taking orders from Customers and processing payments efficiently. Handling cash and cash register. Following proper safety procedures when handling and/or preparing food.
2. Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicant must currently be receiving services from San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services. Ability to pass background/sanction checks for the funding agency(ies).
Preferred Qualifications: Volunteer or paid experience in a helping profession desired. Ability to learn and adhere to university procedures involving the handling of cleaning agents or potentially hazardous materials. Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion.

The position requires performing physical activities, including standing, bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching while interacting with adults and significant others within the field and within the Martin Gipson Socialization Center. Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds. Possible contact with chemicals, loud noises, and confined spaces. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel Position is scheduled for 4-10 hours per week, during Gipson Centers normal business hours of 8am-5pm, M-F.
