This position is in the Department of Pathology & Immunology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Provides analytic and technical work in developing, designing, and supporting laboratory systems in a clinical environment. Employees participate in the implementation of new functionality, as well as troubleshooting day-to-day problems. Duties include laboratory and client needs assessment as well as evaluating workflow and establishing ways in which technology can enhance those workflows. Employee works as part of a team on large projects, providing instructions and providing deliverables. May also lead small internal department technology initiatives. Employees should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
This position will provide Clinical application for support and liaison for Department of Pathology. It will work with laboratory management and staff, Pathology IT, EPIC/HIP, and other clinical sites to streamline processes, coordinate/implement changes, and ensure smooth communication between Pathology departments across BJC/WU and EPIC.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serves the Pathology IT Team as a Project Manager.
Coordinates the assignment of tasks.
Develops clear project deliverables and timelines.
Finalizes project documentation/signoff for all projects where IT is included.
Leads Development for modules of larger projects, monitoring progress to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Provides Clinical Application support as needed, and/or as a tier II/III support contact for highly complex issues.
Works closely with lab directors, lab managers and EPIC team to develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines on better integration of clinical applications.
Provides formal training to end user for applications related to support spectrum and also creates SABA training modules for in-depth training and documentation.
Tests applications to ensure displays meet ease of use and flexibility standards and to ensure websites execute properly for multiple browsers, engaging users as necessary.
Works with users, lab managers and vendors to develop detailed specification documents with project deliverables and timelines.
Recommends upgrades and enhancements, researches, tests and evaluates new technologies related to support spectrum.
Works with laboratory teams to streamline workflows, and solve common issues.
Troubleshoots issues/inadequacies with new enhancements and existing functionality, communicating with vendors as needed.
Actively participates in team projects, meetings, and discussions.
Performs other related project work and duties as assigned.
Degree or certification from a technical school or college in computer programming.
Two or more years of experience clinical application support.
Two or more years of SQL knowledge or experience with Crystal Reporting or PowerBI.
Five or more years of experience with Office 365 applications, specifically (Project, PowerBI, Dynamics 365).
Two or more years of experience with Sybase Powerbuilder.
Ability to consult with clients on issues and requests that require the implementation or creation of a custom solution.
Effectively use available tools in problem solving and systems analysis.
Ability to perform diagnostics on assigned software and/or hardware according to standard operating procedures.
Interact as a productive team member on a project team or manage a project task.
Effectively interact with end users and lab teams to resolve tickets, when needed.
Database analyst (SQL, Crystal Reports, or PowerBI) experience.
The hiring range for this position is $64,854 - $84,365 annually.
