UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Nurse Magnet Coordinator to join our Administration team. The Health Program Operations Specialist 'Magnet Coordinator' provides key leadership to assure successful redesignation as a Magnet Hospital.
This position will provide interpretation of Magnet Credentialing guidelines to staff and leaders who will be participating in the redesignation process. The Magnet Coordinator assists in identification of authors and leaders for each domain of the magnet model. This position will create the writing templates, and send a writing invitation to the authors and leaders for each domain. The Magnet Coordinator will track progress of the writing to ensure deadlines are met. Once documents are received from the authors, the Magnet Coordinator will review and edit each document to ensure all elements of the standard have been adequately addressed. The Magnet Coordinator will maintain open communication with the Chief Nursing Officer to identify and overcome barriers to successful redesignation.
Provide interpretational guidance to all key stakeholders regarding Magnet criteria
In collaboration with Magnet Steering team, identify authors for each Magnet Standard
Identify gaps and collaborate with Magnet Steering Team and leaders to address them
Create writing templates to ensure that all elements of standards are addressed by authors
Issue writing invitations to authors and track document completion by deadlines
Review and edit each document to ensure compliance with standards
Collaborate closely with Chief Nursing Officer to ensure successful completion of documents
Assist in designing strategies to prepare staff for the Site Visit including engagement of Magnet Champions
REQUIREMENTS Nurse experienced in interpreting regulatory guidelines and designing strategies to ensure compliance. Experience in scholarly writing to meet objectives of governing bodies. Evidence of motivational and collaborative style to achieve goals. Evidence of provision of mentorship to nurses to enhance skills and competencies. BSN, MSN and experience in interpreting regulatory guidelines and designing strategies to ensure compliance.
LEGAL REQUIREMENTSv Requires active and clear Washington State nursing license.
