Dr. Yzette Lanier seeks to hire a Research Scientist for a CDC-funded study entitled "The development of a couples-focused HIV behavioral intervention for heterosexual Black and Latino youth". The Research Scientist will support the PI in the development and submission of scientific abstracts/papers and grant proposals based on study findings. Duties include but are not limited to: conducting literature searches and synthesis; drafting and revising abstracts and manuscripts; analyzing and interpreting research results; tracking manuscript status, andresponding to reviewer critiques. This is a short-term, remote position with the possibility of one-time extension (pending the availability of funding). This position will report to Dr. Yzette Lanier.
A Masters or doctorate degree in a health-related field (psychology, public health, social work, nursing, etc.).
Documented record of written productivity as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications (first-authored publications preferred).
Prior experience analyzing, interpreting, and writing up qualitative data.
Prior research experience in sexual and reproductive health research.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a solid work ethic in preparing publication-quality research abstracts/manuscripts and grant proposals.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently on multiple tasks.
Ability to work independently and on a team.
