Reporting to the Senior Director for Clinical Services Administration and Education for Psychiatry, the Manager of Clinical Service Administration and Credentialing is responsible for the recruitment process, credentialing appointment and on-boarding process for faculty.
The incumbent will ensure malpractice insurance credentialing, managed care credentialing and New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYP) appointment requirements are up to date for providers. S/he will oversee the on-boarding of clinical faculty and ensure all receive appropriate on-boarding. The Manger of Clinical Service Administration and Credentialing will also steer the patient access and experience initiative. S/he will also liaison with the Columbia Psychiatry Business Office to assist with appropriate processing of clinical invoicing. This position will be responsible for implementation of new systems to support the practice operations and expansions.
The Manager of Clinical Service Administration and Credentialing, under the supervision of the Senior Director for Clinical Service Administration and Education, will ensure assigned business units are financially viable and are in compliance with all applicable regulatory and transactional policies, procedures and processes.
Mange the administrative team
Recruitment - ensure appropriate Columbia University posting and recruitment process are followed.
Credentialing, appointments and on-boarding-supervise the preparation of appointment transactions and the resolution of visa and work eligibility issues; Coordinate faculty and officer on-boarding process; duties include meetings and orienting new staff and faculty; assisting with on-boarding to the faulty practice as applicable, related administrative issues; Ensure the credentialing and re-credentialing of providers is coordinated in an accurate and up-to-date manner and that this information is disseminated internally and externally and in a timely manner; Collaborates with department director and faculty affairs to assist with streamlining and updating of credentialing processes.
NYP appointment - Work with Medical Staff Office to improve efficiencies of NYP appointments. Ensure requirements are being met and implement the new requirements as appropriate.
MCIC - Collaborate with Hospital and Columbia business office to ensure providers and trainees have appropriate malpractice coverage; ensure appropriate funding source is identified as applicable.
Manage the Psychiatry Insurance Credentialing team - collaborate with Physician Enrollment Group (PEG) to manage the credentialing and enrollment of ColumbiaDoctors participating providers; Assist ColumbiaDoctors members enroll in any new managed care contract between a payer and ColumbiaDoctors. Facilitate newly joined ColumbiaDoctors Members to opt out of payer's network. This role will include the interface with ColumbiaDoctors Revenue Cycle office to resolve billing issues related to managed care credentialing.
Invoice - Liaison with the Columbia Psychiatry business office to assist with appropriate processing of clinical invoicing.
Working closely with the Division Administrator and Division Director, assist in the development of a strategy for program growth, cost containment, and improved operations efficiency.
Oversee practice environments to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely manner.

Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, 4 years related experience
A master's degree is preferred.
Five-seven years of experience in a large complex academic setting
Prior supervisory experience is preferred, as well as evidence of initiative, discretion and the ability to set priorities in a high-volume setting.
Must successfully complete online system training requirements
Involved with patients and/or research subjects
High level of proficiency with financial systems, including spreadsheet preparation and presentations.
Thorough understanding of managerial accounts principles.
Excellent oral and written communication and customer service skills.
Ability to analyze and coalesce data from multiple sources and present it in a straightforward formation (both financial and narrative).
Ability to identify solutions to complex problems.
