Activities related to college teaching and learning including but not limited to:
Instructional planning, facilitation, teaching and learning
Assessment of student performance
Student retention and advising
Lab/classroom climate management
Maintenance of professional skills and credentials
Work closely with department to maintain and enhance curriculum and assess program outcomes
Develop department budget
Occupational Experience Requirement:
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in pre-hospital or emergency care settings. Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement:
Current Minnesota certification, registration, or licensure as an EMT, paramedic, physician, physician’s assistant, or registered nurse
EMT’s may also instruct firefighting courses with the following qualifications: o Associate’s degree o Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience as a career or paid on-call firefighter. o One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for firefighting. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in firefighting within the last five years.
Demonstrate familiarity with and commitment to the mission and constituencies of a comprehensive community and technical college.
Dedication to teaching and student learning providing quality education emphasizing college level standards.
Commitment to studying, analyzing, and implementing learning strategies that will help students reach their education goals.
Experience using teaching techniques that support diverse learning styles.
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills.
Knowledge and experience in the use of instructional technology, including hybrid and online course delivery.
