The Office of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer at Iowa State University has an opening for aÂ Negotiator within the Industry Contracts Team who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of, material transfer agreements, confidentiality agreements, andÂ possibly someÂ sponsored project contracts and other similar agreements on behalf of Iowa State University. This position will also review and coordinate with other university departments on issues arising fromÂ agreementsÂ such as export control, purchase of equipment, intellectual property, and other issues that may require input from other university departments.
Specific duties include review of terms and conditions of agreements; ensure compliance with internal policies,Â UniversityÂ guidelines and government regulations; evaluateÂ amendments to agreements; assist faculty and staff regarding the management and administration ofÂ agreements; provide advice to assist with resolving problems and complex issues related toÂ agreements; and draft, negotiate and execute various agreements. The size and complexity of the portfolio will reflect experience level.
