FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The School of Health Sciences, Department of Nursing, at the College of Staten Island (CSI), currently seeks candidates for two Lecturer positions. Both positions are anticipated to begin in August 2021. The Department offers AAS, RN to BS, MS (CNS, NP, and Certificates), and DNP degree programs. The Nursing Department is a member of the consortium of three senior City University of New York (CUNY) colleges that offer a PhD in Nursing Science at the CUNY Graduate Center. The CSI Nursing Faculty positions present an exceptional opportunity for the successful candidates to participate in the continued intellectual and institutional growth and development of the long-standing Nursing Department within the City University of New York.
CSI is a senior CUNY College organized around two academic divisions and three schools, with over 10,000 students. CSI offers a broad range of academic programs in the liberal arts and sciences, and in several professional areas. The College awards associate's, bachelor's, master's, and clinical doctoral degrees, and in collaboration with the CUNY Graduate Center, numerous Ph.D. degrees. CSI's internationally recognized faculty passionately engage in scholarly and artistic activities, and together with a strong professional staff, lead students through transformational learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. The department is searching for two Lecturer positions. Duties include: Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise.
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
The preferred candidates will have a graduate degree in nursing at the master's level or above. Candidates must have or be eligible for a New York State RN license. The other qualifications include the ability to teach successfully; and provide service; commitment to inclusive excellence; strong communication skills; and the ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred qualifications include:
PhD, EdD, DNP, DrPH, or other relevant doctorate
Record of Scholarship including publications and other scholarly achievements
Record of teaching experience in a variety of programs including graduate education (NP, CNS, and DNP programs)
Experience with active learning strategies and simulation reflective of current best educational practices
Experience with accreditation and writing curricular reports
Clinical Expertise (all specialties will be considered with particular attention to Adult-Gerontology Health, Primary Care, Maternity, Medical-Surgical, and Child Health specialties
Record of Service including academic and professional service, and mentoring.
