Western Kentucky University, a member of Conference USA and Football Bowl Subdivision NCAA member institution, seeks to hire one individual for the position of Part-Time Assistant Athletics Trainer. This part-time position is a twelve-month position running approximately July 2021 through June 2022. This individual will report to the Associate Athletics Director - Athletic Training & Sports Medicine. The successful candidate must be available for weekend work and travel.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.
Assist with the varsity sports including weight training, practices, scrimmages and games
Responsible for keeping accurate and current medical records on all athletes
Assist with scheduling and transporting athletes for doctor's appointments and medical procedures
Assist with the care, diagnosis and rehabilitation of student-athletes
Assist in supervision of athletic training room operations
Assist with packing for home and away games
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Considered Essential for Success:
Must be self-motivated
Must demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organization, interpersonal, and communication skills
Must have a commitment to following NCAA, Conference USA, and Western Kentucky University policies and procedures
The positions will work a maximum of 99 hours per month at $15.15 an hour.
Must be a National Certified Athletic Trainer in good standing (ATC)
Ability to work evening and weekend hours
