The Health Policy Research Scholars (HPRS) Program is a leadership program that trains full-time doctoral students from populations underrepresented in specific disciplines and/or marginalized backgrounds as leaders in health policy. These groups include racial and ethnic populations, as well as individuals from socioeconomically disadvantaged and underserved backgrounds, and students with disabilities. The purpose of this program is to support and enhance the doctoral training of students from different disciplines who are committed to advancing the Culture of Health as well as encourage students to participate in interdisciplinary research that impacts health policy. The program provides training in health policy, leadership, communications, and equity, and offers mentorship, coaching, social support and networking opportunities to enhance their success. Scholars remain at their home institutions located across the United States and mainly participate via online education, although the Program offers required and optional in-person sessions throughout the year. The Sr. Administrative Coordinator for the HPRS National Program Center (NPC) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in Baltimore, Maryland will provide administrative support in accomplishing the HPRS goals.
The position is grant-funded and will be supported through August 31, 2025.
The Sr. Administrative Coordinator will report to the Department Administrator and the Deputy Director of HPRS, and work closely with both the Director and Deputy Director.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinates the planning of HPRS activities and team meetings and takes notes at the team meetings and other events as necessary.
Coordinates preparation, set up, and logistics for HPRS events/functions (virtual and in-person).
Drafts and edits communications as needed.
Coordinates independent contractor agreements.
Coordinates travel in partnership with travel agency.
Processes reimbursements and invoice payments.
Answers telephones, screens callers and relays messages.
Orders supplies, manages the purchase of program-related items, and processes other program-related payments as needed.
Handles special projects assigned by the HPRS Director and Deputy Director faculty as necessary.
Other administrative duties as assigned.
Responsible for creating a work environment that maintains confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications (Required)
High School Diploma/GED.
Five (5) years progressively responsible administrative experience.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the * JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job. *

Experience with SAP is preferred.
Excellent ability to manage time and projects with competing priorities.
