We are seeking an E-Commerce Business Analyst on the Engagement Applications team within Harvard Alumni Affairs and Development.
Alumni Affairs and Development (AA&D) comprises the University Development Office (UDO), Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) Development, AA&D Resources, and the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA). There is a unique relationship between the University and the FAS fundraising operations, resulting from a long history in which University fundraising ultimately grew out of College fundraising.
AA&D Engagement Applications Team The AA&D Engagement Applications team collaborates with business departments across the University to identify, implement, and support alumni, prospect, and donor facing technology solutions that support the alumni affairs and development business initiatives. The team manages multiple applications such as SalesForce Marketing Cloud, Certain Events, Give Campus, the Harvard Alumni Community, Alumni Magnet, and online e-commerce systems. The team supports email and event template creations, web site development and UX design for central Alumni Affairs and Development in collaboration with AAD Creative Services. The team delivers customer focused service in the areas of business requirements/solutions development, UX and web development, project management and implementation, production systems support, education, and end user support.
Works with stakeholders to build, update and troubleshoot online donation forms.
Provides end-user support for current and future e-commerce platforms including Online Donation Forms, Recurring Subscription Manager, and Membership Forms.
Develops in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, and system integrations.
Collaborates with Operations, Business Intelligence, and key stakeholders to ensure that data is acquired throughout the transaction life cycle that facilitates metrics and analytics.
Collaborates with the Services/Project Manager, Director, Operations, and key stakeholders to identify and implement product enhancements and new e-commerce solutions.
Collaborates with Advancement Systems, Operations, Alumni and Development Services (ADS), and other key stakeholders to ensure that technology solutions effectively support efficient business processes and workflows.
Leads and manages small and medium projects that enhance our ability to accept donations electronically
Supports, tests, and monitors data integrations between e-commerce systems, enterprise applications, and the data warehouse.
Complies with standards, best practices, and policies defined for the team.
Writes and executes test cases that ensure all e-commerce services are compliant with ADA accessibility standards
Writes and executes comprehensive test plans that validate the accuracy of information and functionality to ensure delivery of high-quality e-commerce solutions.
Supports electronic donations infrastructure and related automated/integrated gift processing, reconciliation, and reporting.
Participates in all aspects of production support, upgrades, and new projects implementation.
Performs work within a set release schedule. Coordinates with vendors as necessary.
Provides functional support during project go-lives and busy season including, fiscal year end, Spring Reunion, and Calendar year end. Support includes occasional weekend and holiday times.

Bachelor's degree, preferably with coursework in information systems or information technology.
Minimum of four (4) years' experience in a software development environment.
Knowledge of web applications and design, relational databases, Oracle and SQL.
Detail-oriented and familiar with best practices for testing and product lifecycles.
Excellent customer service skills.
Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office desktop tools such as Word and Excel.
The ability to become proficient with the Harvard Development Systems.
Strong written, verbal, public speaking and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience writing functional requirements or user stories.
Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume, and results oriented environment.
Ability to become proficient with the Harvard Enterprise Development Systems.
Demonstrated ability to identify problems accurately.
Ability to conscientiously collaborate in a team environment.
Ability to learn and flexible to change.
