Assists with all aspects of patient care: serves as a primary contact for patients and caregivers who require assistance in understanding clinic processes and accessing necessary departments/personnel. Takes accountability for the patientsâ beginning-to-end experience regardless of their needs.Â Assists patients in eliminating barriers to care by referring to appropriate staff members/community resources dependent on insurance policy.Â Assists/coordinates patient appointments and follow up, focusing on the initial evaluation.Â Admits and completes financial paperwork and financial clearance for new and existing potential transplant patients.
Assists multidisciplinary team in managing the care of the patientÂ through all phases (In-take/Evaluation/Listed) by acting as a liaison between the clinic and referring physicians; assists in managing follow-up care for post surgical patients by setting up follow up care appointments; and/or coordinating an organized and efficient case flow of clinic scheduling.Â Assists the office with clerical duties and other duties as assigned.
Analyzes data in OTTR and Cerner to track key patient statistics and presents recommendations for process improvement.Â Participates in activities that market USC Transplant to referring physicians and analyzes and tracks referral sources.Â Participates in clinic flow and efficiency data collection metrics and provides recommendations for process improvement.
Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English and Spanish proficiently. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. In depth knowledge of all insurance types.
Minimum Education:â¢High school graduate or equivalent Requiredâ¢AA Degree Requiredâ¢Bachelorâs Degree Preferred.Minimum Experience/Knowledge:â¢2+ years experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Experience with financial clearance preferred. Familiarity with word processing, Microsoft Outlook, GE Centricity Business, Cerner, OTTR, TRACE, PBAR and scheduling software is preferred.â¢Analytical and problem solving skills including ability to analyze patient data from multiple systems.â¢Quality management skills including ability to identify Transplant quality metrics and tracking of complex regulatory requirements.â¢Must have excellent communication skills, including the ability to speak, read and write English and Spanish proficiently.Required License/Certification:â¢Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
