Job Duties and Responsibilities
Performs examinations for both the internal and external structures of the eye and subjective and objective tests to evaluate vision; analyzes the test findings; diagnoses and determines appropriate treatments; communicates result to and educates patients.
Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases and disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as diagnoses related systemic conditions.
Prescribes glasses and contact lenses; prescribes rehabilitation of the impaired eyes.
Performs other duties as assigned.
A degree in medicine from an accredited school of optometry; preferably supplemented with two (2) years of related experience. State license is required.
