The Cybersecurity for Democracy Project at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Analyst to join an exciting NSF-funded project to better understand and mitigate misinformation in digital political content. New York University (NYU) is one of the top private universities in the United States, and the Tandon School of Engineering, located in Brooklyn, has the distinct history of having been known previously as Brooklyn Poly and the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering.
The research analyst will work with our misinformation research partners to understand how content experts use our tools to screen online content for misinformation and guide the engineering team to build tools to meet those users' needs. The research analyst will help the research team to develop a Spanish language analysis pipeline. They will do this by monitoring US Spanish language political and cultural public discourse and working with the data science team to develop Spanish language topic models. They will help coordinate research between the engineering team and our research partners at other institutions.
