The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is searching for a full time surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on clinical track. Responsibilities will include staffing the undergraduate and resident clinics as well as participation in the didactic curriculum offered by the department. The ideal candidate must have completed an accredited OMFS training program and be eligible for New Jersey dental licensure with board eligibility/certification. Faculty will be expected to participate in scholarly activities and will have the opportunity to participate in the intramural faculty practice. Position will remain open until filled. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and training. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Staffing the clinics including direct supervision of students and residents including administration of enteral, inhalational and intravenous sedation. Faculty must have anesthesia permit from State of NJ, CDS and DEA in addition to active license;
Participation in the didactic curriculum offered by the department including formal didactic lectures, conferences and seminar series;
Apply and obtain hospital privileges at University Hospital to allow staffing hospital clinics, operating room cases and opportunity to participate in the on-call schedule for OMFS Department;
Have opportunity to obtain privileges for the intramural faculty practice;
Represent the Department on school, University and Hospital committees as assigned by Chair;
Other related duties as assigned by Chair.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Applicant must have active New Jersey License and surgical experience through either clinical practice, hospital dentistry residency or oral and maxillofacial Surgery residency training.
Preferred candidate would be ABOMS Board Certified
Additional degrees or advanced training is desirable but not required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must be a graduate of accredited OMFS training program and eligible for NJ licensure
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, walking, sitting – some for extended periods of time.
