The laboratories of Stephanie Downs-Canner, MD and Jonathan Serody, MD at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center are inviting applications for an extremely talented postdoc fellow to work in tumor immunology as early as May 2021.
Dr. Downs-Canner is a surgeon-scientist studying the role of B-cells in triple negative breast cancer. Dr. Serody is a tumor immunologist with a longstanding interest in the role of adaptive immune cells in the anti-tumor immune response.
The Downs-Canner lab, and the Serody lab, are interested in the development of novel B-cell based therapies or biomarkers in triple negative breast cancer and leveraging single-cell sequencing of human tumors, bioinformatics approaches to analyzing these data, and antibody cloning and mass spectrometry-based protein identification to achieve their goals.
Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated to join a vibrant research laboratory and collaborative immunotherapy group with strong organizational skills, curiosity, and initiative. Candidates with prior experience in molecular biology or immunology will be preferred. Individuals with experience with cloning and screening of proteins will be preferred.
