The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is seeking to hire a Senior Specialist – Research to integrate smart sensors and analytics intoorgan and organoid culture systems with bioelectronic interfaces for the purpose of advancing our understanding of human biology and creating new therapeutic paradigms. The successful candidate will be expected to have a PhD in stem cell biology, or related field, a track record of publications in organ and organoid cultures, knowledge of biomaterials that support cell and tissue growth, and some clinical expertise that will enable the creation 3D culture models that recapitulate human physiology and pathology.
The BME department is located in a state-of-the-art research facility that houses the Institute for Quantitative Health Science & Engineering (IQ). IQ is dedicated to basic and applied research at the intersection of engineering, human medicine, and natural science. We have recruited researchers from some of the top academic centers around the world to build an integrated multidisciplinary center for biomedical research. Our aim is to collaborate across disciplines to push the envelope in biomedicine, solving some of the most pressing problems in in biology and healthcare with smart engineering solutions.This position will report directly to the BME chairperson.

MD and PhD or equivalent degrees in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related field.
Experience in regenerative medicine, smart biomaterials, medicine, and electro-conductive biomaterials with a publication record in organoid biology and tissues on smart chips.
